01

the short version

The short version

Everything below follows from three facts.

Order by midday. Collect that evening. We cook to that headcount. The cut-off is firm because the food is bought and cooked against the number of orders standing at that moment.

Nothing is confirmed until it is paid, and a bento not collected during its window is not refunded. If we cancel a drop, you get every cent back.

Anything here unclear? WhatsApp us on +65 9644 3352 before you order, not after.

02

before midday

Ordering & cut-off

One deadline, and it does not move.

  • Orders for a given day close at the time shown on that day's card — normally 12:00 midday.
  • There is a short grace period afterwards while a payment already in progress finishes. Once that passes the day is closed, and no new order can be started or paid for.
  • We cook to the headcount at that moment. That is the whole reason the cut-off is firm.
  • Bentos are limited. A day can sell out before the cut-off.
03

card or paynow

Paying

Your card details never touch us.

  • An order is only confirmed once it is paid. Until then the bentos are held for you, not booked.
  • Payment is by card or PayNow through Stripe. You type your card details on Stripe's page, not ours.
  • You have 30 minutes from starting a payment to finish it. After that the hold releases and the bentos go back on sale.
  • Prices are in Singapore dollars and are what you see at checkout. We are not GST-registered, so no GST is charged.
  • Your collection code is issued the moment payment lands, and emailed to you.
04

that evening

Collecting

Four digits and a fifteen-minute wait.

  • Collect from the pickup point you chose. It is on your confirmation email and on your order page.
  • Show your four-digit collection code. It is the fastest way to be found in a busy lobby.
  • We email you the evening's time once the route is set, and again the moment we actually arrive. That second email says how long we are staying — normally 15 minutes from arrival, counted from when we got there rather than from a timetable.
  • Someone else may collect for you if they have your code.

the one to read

If you miss collection

A bento not collected during the window is not refunded.

The food was cooked, paid for and carried to your building. We cannot resell it and we cannot keep it overnight, so the cost has already been incurred whether or not anyone comes down.

We leave your bento at the pickup point. When we pack up, anything uncollected stays where the collection was — we do not take it away with us. You’ll get an email telling you so, with a photo of where we left it, so you can still come down and get your food.

Once it has been left there it is no longer in our care. It is not stored, refrigerated or watched over, and we cannot be responsible for it after we have gone — including if someone else takes it. The sooner you collect it, the better it will be.

We would much rather you got your food while we are still there. If you know in advance that you cannot make it, message us before the collection window and we will do what we can — hold it a little longer, meet you at a different door, hand it to a flatmate.

Refunds outside this are entirely at our discretion, and we do sometimes give them. That is a kindness, not a right — and asking for one is never held against you.

06

our side

If we cancel

You get every cent back.

  • If we cancel a drop — too few orders to make the trip, a kitchen problem, anything else — you are refunded in full for that day, and we email you to say so and why.
  • Refunds go back the way they came, usually within a few working days. We email you again once the money has actually left, so silence never has to mean guessing.
  • If your order covers several dates and only one is cancelled, only that date is refunded. The rest stands.
  • Stripe's fee on the original payment is not returned to us, but that is our cost. You always get 100% of what you paid.
07

something changed

Changing an order

Message us — there is no self-service button, and here's why.

  • Bento has no accounts yet, so there is no way for a page to prove it is really you. That is the only reason cancelling runs through a message rather than a button.
  • Before the cut-off we can usually change or cancel an order.
  • After the cut-off the food is already being cooked to that number, so a cancellation is at our discretion.
  • Wrong email address on your order? Tell us and we will correct it and re-send your confirmation to the right place.

please read

Allergens & halal

Declared honestly, which means declaring the limits too.

Every bento lists what is in it and carries allergen tags. Egg is tagged even on a vegetarian bento, because "veg" in an Indian context usually means eggless and we would rather over-tell you.

We cook in a home kitchen, not an allergen-controlled facility. Nuts, dairy, gluten, sesame, mustard and egg are all handled in the same space. We take your notes seriously and we are careful, but we cannot guarantee the absence of any trace. If a trace would put you in danger, please do not order.

Prepared with halal ingredients, not halal-certified. We source halal meat and we do not cook pork, but we hold no certification and do not claim one.
